How did I put a website online and rank 34th on Yahoo 4 days later?

I tested this technique on a free hosting service first, the site of my Eaglespirit Marketing Tips Newsletter. http://eaglespirit.2freegigs.com. When I tried it there, I ranked #1 for Eagle Spirit Marketing, above eaglespiritmarketing.com! Keep in mind I NEVER submitted my site to ANY search engine!
So, with the results of that test, it was only natural that I try it when I moved my newsletter to it's own domain. HotBizTips.com went "live" on 8-10-2005. Without my submitting it to any search engines, on 8-14-2005 I was ranked 34th on Yahoo, not for searching the site address, but for searching my keywords.
